“Rīgas satiksme” board sends letters asking to pay EUR 6.5 million for non-fulfilment of contracts
The Board of “Rīgas satiksme” has signed and sent letters to “Škoda Electric”, “Škoda Transportation” and “Solaris Bus & Coach” asking to pay penalties in the amount of EUR 6.5 million for the trams, trolleybuses and buses which were not delivered on time.
“Rīgas satiksme” reminds that under the contracts signed:
- out of 20 low-floor trams ordered Riga has not received 13 low-floor trams, for which a penalty in the total amount of EUR 2,183,265 was calculated under the contract;
- out of 100 trolleybuses ordered Riga has not received 45 trolleybuses, for which a penalty in the total amount of EUR 3,411,706 was calculated under the contract;
- for delays in the delivery of 140 buses, a penalty in the total amount of EUR 941,797 EUR was calculated under the contract.
Pursuant to the contracts, “Rīgas satiksme” has asked to pay all the penalties within the time limits specified in the letters, none of them exceeding 30 days.
